Iberia strengthens its leadership this summer by reinforcing links between Latin America and Europe

Iberia is increasing capacity between Europe and Latin America for the summer season, which runs from 29 March to 24 October, offering a total of 3,354,159 seats – a 7.6 per cent increase compared with last summer.

Growth is concentrated in markets that include Argentina. During June, July and August, the Buenos Aires route will operate up to 23 weekly flights, becoming the airline’s first long-haul destination to exceed three daily flights. With 456,000 seats available on this route, capacity represents a 12 per cent increase compared with summer 2025.

Mexico will also see additional capacity, following the launch of a new route. From 2 June, Iberia will begin operating direct flights to Monterrey, with three weekly frequencies, adding a further 36,288 seats over the summer season.

Expansion also extends to Brazil, where the recent addition of services to Recife and Fortaleza, together with increased operations to Rio de Janeiro, will enable the airline to offer close to 400,000 seats — 15 per cent more than in the previous summer.

Meanwhile, the Dominican Republic will benefit from a significant boost in connectivity. During the European summer season, the destination will have between ten and 11 weekly flights, increasing seat capacity by more than 21 per cent.

Connectivity between Puerto Rico and Europe will also rise this summer, increasing from between seven and nine weekly flights operated in 2025 to between ten and 12 weekly flights this year.

In addition, the Santiago de Chile-Madrid service is another route experiencing growth for the summer season. Following increases over the past year, the route now operates 12 weekly flights – two daily services five days a week – offering almost 240,000 seats between Santiago and Madrid, a seven per cent increase compared with the same period last year.
